The following four modules expand our ability to feel our difficult emotions and bring more life force into the body. Opening the Heart Space to Release Grief specifically focuses on bringing great attention, feeling and breath to the heart space (the location of the Anhata chakra, for those familiar with the chakra system). The purpose of this is to release grief, but this does not always happen and does not have to happen. Regardless of whether or not sadness is touched upon, it is a very calming breath and feeling activity. Awakening the Emotional Body presents a body-based activity for bringing attention to the body and thereby activating it. It is recommended to start slowly with this exercise, 3-5 minutes, working one’s way up to 60 minutes. Learning to Feel Deeper discusses various issues that block our ability to feel deeper and presents a self-massage technique for enhancing our ability to feel deeply with our bodies. Lastly, a number of people are, for any number of reasons, significantly head-heart disconnected and have difficulty feeling their heart space/emotional body. This activity starts to break down these barriers by starting to connect with sorrow in the head with Imaginary Crying.
